Who we are

WeDance is an inclusive dance fitness company that specializes in adaptive dance fitness for individuals with special needs. Working with both adults and children with a range of disabilities, we've developed interactive classes that uplift, engage and entertain our students. Our classes promote self expression and joy through movement. You can find us in many adult day programs and centers as well as providing extra classes, workshops and events.

How it started

Our journey began with a simple belief: that everyone deserves the opportunity to exercise in a fun way; dance. Long before WeDance was founded, Owner Amanda taught classes for children aged 2 and up and focused on the concept of recreational exercise that highlighted dance movement. As it grew, she expanded her mission to engage with the special needs community, ensuring that dance is a universal language accessible to all.

Inclusiveness is at the heart of WeDance so to be able to give this community the ability to reap the benefits of music and dance has been a beautiful thing.

Hi, I’m Amanda

Owner & Dance Fitness Instructor

With a deep passion for movement and music, I dedicate my life to inspiring others through dance and fitness.

As a licensed Zumba and Zumba Kids instructor, I bring years of experience to the table, having worked with individuals of all ages and abilities in various settings, including after school programs, public and private schools, special needs day centers and at various events.

Before diving into the world of dance fitness, I was a competitive ice skater throughout my youth and teenage years, which laid the foundation for my transition into dance. I danced professionally until my late twenties, performing on numerous stages alongside various singers and at countless events. It is truly a blessing to live my purpose every day; inspiring others and giving everyone the opportunity to DANCE!

What parents have to say...

"Zumba with Amanda has become a highlight of our Monday mornings! My daughter can’t wait to jump into the fun energy of the class. It's a fantastic way for her to start the week, and she absolutely loves every moment spent dancing and moving.’re always out the door in a flash!"

Our classes

Our classes are thoughtfully designed for every ability and are a mix of exercise meets self-expression.

Our focus is not just about following the moves but encouraging our students to explore how the music makes them feel, regardless of their movement abilities. They experience a unique blend of movement, music, and motivation that promotes stress relief, boosts mood and enhances confidence.

We relate our classes to a concert; the energy is uplifting, energetic and contagious. Some are dancing, others enjoying the vibe. Both equally fulfilling and beneficial.

Using simplistic, repetitive movements to upbeat songs our classes prioritize empowerment, positivity and most importantly fun.

Michelle Curtis, Director

I have never attended a Zumba session before so I did not know what to expect. Especially since I was presenting it to my clients; people who have developmental and intellectual disabilities.

I need not have worried.  Amanda led an amazing class.  It was fun and upbeat. She recognized and accommodated the needs of the members. She was encouraging and energetic.  Her description of the moves and what was expected was easily relatable and on point.

The time flew by. It was so much fun, we made another appointment even before she left.

Thank you Amanda!

Amanda's Zumba classes are very inclusive, fun and upbeat. She engages all participants and staff to the fullest of their abilities. Everyone is always super happy and excited to see her on Zumba days.

Amanda is well versed in adapting her Zumba program for inclusivity for those able bodies and others that utilize wheelchairs.

"Including Zumba with Amanda on our program schedule has been one of the best decisions we’ve made. Our group has varying levels of support needs and Amanda is able to engage each participant and encourage them to participate to the best of their ability. The music and the moves are so fun, it feels like you're at a party. Her warm and inviting style has made the Zumba sessions a favourite among both participants and staff. We really love Zumba and it's Amanda specifically that makes it so fun and successful'
